General Notary Work

This is the process of notarizing a document that is unrelated to a real estate transaction. An N.S.O.D. notary will witness the signing of official documents and verify the identity of the signers.

Mobile Notary

A mobile notary is when an N.S.O.D. notary travels to a location of the signer’s choice to notarize documents of any kind, as allowed by the state where the notary is commissioned. N.S.O.D. notaries are commissioned in Texas and work with other notaries nationwide to fulfill out-of-state mobile notary requests.

Remote Online Notary (RON)

Remote Online Notarization (RON) allows documents to be notarized in electronic form with the signer using an electronic signature and appearing before a commissioned notary online via audio-video technology. This means that the N.S.O.D. notary and signer do not have to be in the same physical location. They can be in two different states.

In-Person Notary (IPEN) is the traditional method of notarizing documents where the notary and signer are physically present in the same location; however, the documents are in digital format requiring an electronic signature.

Loan Signing Agent

Loan Signing Agents oversee the proper execution of loan documents. A N.S.O.D. notary will obtain the necessary signatures, and in some cases deliver the documents to the borrower.

Apostille Agent

An N.S.O.D. notary will facilitate delivery of the necessary documents to the state apostille agency for processing and return the paperwork to the client. A notary does not issue the apostille.

Field Inspection Agent

Field Inspectors are the eyes and ears of a company. Inspections are broken down into three major categories: mortgage, insurance, and commercial inspections. An N.S.O.D. notary will be responsible for completing inspection requests made by the client and provide a detailed report of their findings.

Non-Notary Work

Non-Notary work is the act of performing services that do not require notarization. An Apostille Agent and a Field Inspection Agent are considered non-notary work. Below is a list of additional non-notary work performed by N.S.O.D. notaries, upon request.
